GridKind (Pty) Ltd ("Gridkind", "we", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").
We collect: your WhatsApp phone number and display name; transaction history (purchases, contributions, gifts sent/received); Grid membership information; and payment confirmation data received from our payment processor. We do not collect or store your banking card details — these are handled entirely by our payment processor.
We use your information to: operate your Grid membership and wallet; process purchases and route vouchers/services to you; facilitate gifting between Grid members; send you service-related WhatsApp messages (order confirmations, OTP codes, Grid updates); and improve the Gridkind service.
We process your information based on your consent (given by messaging our WhatsApp number and using the service), and where necessary to perform our contract with you (processing payments and delivering purchased services).
We share limited information with: our payment processor (for payment processing); WhatsApp/Meta (as the messaging channel through which the service operates); and service providers listed on the Gridkind platform (to the extent necessary to fulfil your order, e.g. notifying a provider of a pickup). We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
When you send an anonymous gift, your identity is not disclosed to the recipient through the WhatsApp interface. However, Gridkind retains an internal record of the sender for audit, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution purposes only.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as required to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations thereafter.
Under POPIA, you have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention requirements; and object to certain processing of your information. We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
Gridkind is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via WhatsApp or on this page.
